How to Calculate the LED Screen Size According to the Area?

When the customer asks for the led display price, he usually tells the led display manufacturer the size (length, height) of the led display. However, some customers do not understand the size of the led screen, only tells the led screen area. In this case, how to calculate the size of the indoor led display?

For example: there is a 12 sqm indoor full color led screen, the model is P10 (pixel pitch 10mm), how to determine the size of this indoor led screen?

1. Now we only have the area of the led screen, the length and width we have to calculate. Usually calculated as the ratio of length: width = 4:3 or 16:9. Because the LED display screen works well. (here 4:3 as an example)

2. LED display length = (area ÷ 12) square root X 4

Width = (area ÷ 12) square root X 3

That is, length = 4m, width = 3m

3. Meiyad P10 indoor full color led module size is 320X160mm, module resolution is 32X16 dots.

4. Calculate the quantity of led modules.

The quantity of led modules = length or width of led screen ÷ length or width of led module

The quantity of led modules required for length: 4 m × 1000 ÷ 320mm = 12.5 ≈ 13

The quantity of led modules required for width: 3 m × 1000 ÷ 160mm = 18.75 ≈ 19

5. Calculate the actual size of the led screen.

The real led screen length or width = length or width of LED module × quantity of led modules for led screen length or width

The real screen length: 320mm × 13 = 4160mm = 4.16m

The real screen width: 160mm × 19 = 3040mm = 3.014m

6. The area of the led screen: 4.16m × 3.014m = 12.5384 sqm

7. The resolution of led screen = the number of led modules × the resolution of the led module

LED screen resolution = (13 × 32) × (19 × 16) = 416 × 304
